Welcome to Emergency Response Unit
 

Emergency Response Unit (ERU) has been setup to strengthen the working of the Provincial Relief Commissionerate (PRC) to provide shelter and relief to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), migrated to down districts of NWFP from Buner, Swat & Dir Districts due to military operation carried out by the security forces against the miscreants.

The Government has setup 12 new camps to accomodate the incoming IDPs of Malakand Division which brings the total number of existing IDP camps to 17 in NWFP. The IDPs are also registered outside the Camps as Host Families or Off Camp IDPs. read more...

 
Shelter / NFIs Cluster Meeting held

Peshawar: A Shelter / NFIs cluster meeting held at the ERU office was chaired by Mr. Whyclife Songawa of UNHCR in collaboration with PDMA personnel attended by the participants from the donors agencies and IPs.

The agenda of the meeting was;

  • Winterization
  • Shelter / NFI activities for IDPs and in Areas of Return.
  • Security Concerns and latest updates

The meeting decided that the technical team shall meet regarding NFIs; UNHCR suggested a standard kit is needed to be identified after consultation with all the stakeholders. The suggestion was endorsed by the attendants to meet on the same agenda with technical group on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 1000 hrs at UNHCR office Peshawar.

 
ATTENTION - NATIONAL NGOs

All National NGOs and specifically local ones that are registered in SWAT and BUNIR and have experience of working in these two areas are requested to submit their credentials as early as possible to the address mentioned below.

The details must include the Registration Details,Name of Focal Person, Complete Address and contacts, Work experience and if possible list of previous Donors. Feel free to provide any other relevant document in your favour.

In addition to this, all NGOs who wish to submit their details must fulfill the below mentioned criterion .Kindly reply as early as possible.

  • Experience with micro-enterprise development
  • Experience with value chain approach (or strong interest and willingness to adopt the approach)
  • Promoting gender equality
  • Good community outreach
  • People centered and rights based governance
  • Concerns for conservation of the environment
  • Strong leadership and clear vision
  • Good internal management systems
